16 Nov2021	Covid-19 Orientation program for students and teachers	Covid-19 awareness program has been conducted on the very fist day of official opening of the college for generating awareness among students and teachers.
1-2 June 2021	4th annual student seminar 2021 (2nd webinar)	As a student of geography, everyone has to acquire knowledge on the geographical issues and characteristics of his/ her locality. Only a good perception about the locality could provide one of the keys to understanding the wider geographical issues. Keeping in mind this matter we had set our motto 3 years back.
20 Sep 2020	Student webinar 2020	Department of geography organized a student webinar on the situation of the CVOID 19 pandemic. The topic “Expression of Human Geographies on Earth” on Google meet.
05 Mar 2020	Environmental photography competition	A photographic competition was organized by Eco-club and department of geography with the theme of various environmental issues. There were prizes for the best photo. The competition was judge by Dr. Somnath Halder, Assistant Professor, Kaliachak College, Malda. and other teachers of various departments of the college.
11-13 Jan 2020	Student lecture series	Department of geography organized a student lecture series from 11th to 13th January. Students of all three years have actively participated in this program. All the teachers give some topics for the lecture and guide them to prepare and deliver the lecture.
30 Aug 2019	Campus cleanness program	Eco-club of Gour Mahavidyalaya organized a campus cleanness program along with NSS unit I & II with the vision of “Swachchata hi Seva”. In this program, members of Eco-club and NSS unit I & II clean the college campus and installed some dustbins in the campus area.
30 Aug 2019	Eco-club orientation program	Eco-club of Gour Mahavidyalaya organized an orientation program and a special lecture on low carbon lifestyle. The main speaker of the lecture was Dr. Somnath Halder, Assistant Professor, Kaliachak College, Malda. This program also gives a glimpse of the objectives and vision and future missions of Eco-club.
25 July 2019	Van-Mahotsav	Students of the Department of geography and Eco-club of Gour Mahavidyalaya celebrates Van-Mahotsav by planting seedlings at the college campus.
17 July 2019	Van-Mahotsav	Eco-club of Gour Mahavidyalaya and NSS Unit I & II organized a tree plantation program on the occasion of village adaptation as a part of the extension program in Dakshin Bhatra of Old Malda block.
08 Jun 2019	Farewell and earth day celebration	Students of the Department of geography give farewell to the part III students by the small cultural program in the department and also celebrates earth day with Eco-cub by giving them seedlings of various plants.
18 Jun 2019	Career talk 1: Career opportunities in educational sectors after graduation and post graduation.	Mr. Nanigopal Kapasia, Assistant Professor of Geography, Malda College, Malda delivered a very informative presentation before students and alumni of Gour Mahavidyalaya towards various scopes of job opportunities in different educational institutions across India. 33 students and alumni from different disciplines attended.
18 Jun 2019	Career talk 2: Career opportunities in non-educational sectors after graduation.	Mr. Arijit Chowdhuri, System Administrator of Malda Head Post Office, Malda delivered a very informative presentation before students and alumni of Gour Mahavidyalaya towards various scopes of job opportunities in different non-educational sectors across India. 33 students and alumni from different disciplines attended.
08 Apr 2019	Socio-Economic Survey	Student of B.A. Part-II General geography made a socio-economic survey at household level in North Krishnapalli, English Bazar Municipal area for assessing the socio-economic condition of people. The prepared their individual project report on the topic.
10 Apr 2019	Special lecture-6: Gender issues in Indian Perspective.	Smt. Amrita Sarkar, Assistant Professor of English, Gour Mahavidyalaya, Malda delivered a lecture before students of Geography on various gender related issues in Indian societies. Students were very much informed about the issue and its remedies.
07 Feb 2019	Student Seminar on Local Geographical Issues	There are 15 presentations presented in the seminar by student groups on various issues. Students from Part-I, Part-II and Part-III of Geography Honours participated in this seminar.
04 Feb 2019	Socio-Economic Survey at Household Level	Students of the B.A. Part-III Honours made a Socio-Economic Survey at Household Level in Old Malda and English Bazar Municipal Area for determining and analyzing the urban poverty. They also prepare their individual project report on the topic.
24 Jan 2019	Special Lecture-5: Cold War: Bi-polarization and Uni-polarization	Mr. Arup Kr. Roy, Assistant Professor of Political Science, Gour Mahavidyalaya, Malda delivered a lecture before students of Geography on Post world war geopolitical scenario with reference to polarised politics. Students were very much informed about the topic.
18 Jan 2019	Field Visit to Behula River and Mahananda River	Students of Geography visited Mahananda and Behula River for investigating the morpho-ecological condition of the rivers.
11-16 Dec 2018	Educational Tour at Vizag, Andhra Pradesh	B.A. Part-III Honours students visited Araku Valley and Vizag of Andhra Pradesh for studying physical and cultural landscapes. Students collected various types of rock and mineral samples and submitted to the department. They also observed various landscapes and took photographs of the same.

13 Jan 2018	Special lecture- 4: Analytical explanation of Hydrograph and Rating Curve	Dr. Swades Pal, Assistant Professor of Geography, University of Gour Banga, Malda delivered a lecture before students of Geography on Analytical explanation of Hydrograph and Rating Curve. Students were very much informed about the various aspects of fluvial patterns.
