Human Values and Professional Ethics
Our persisting concern is for inculcating the core universal values like truth and righteousness, patriotism, humanity, cooperation, mutual understanding, constitutional obligations about values, rights, duties, and responsibilities of good citizens, among the students. Members of the IQAC , faculty members of the Department of Political Science, Programme officers of the National Service Scheme, Gour Mahavidyalaya, Mangalbari, Malda, sensitize the students and members of Teaching and Non-teaching staff of Gour Mahavidyalaya to the constitutional obligations about values, rights, duties, and responsibilities of citizens which enable them to conduct as a responsible citizen. The College observed the Republic Day, Independence Day and the Constitutional Day as usual. Two N.S.S. Units and Outreach Programme Committees conducted awareness programs on Swachh Bharat, etc.
Students of the Department of Political Science organized exhibition and mock youth parliament debates. Students participated in Youth Parliament competition at District, the University, and the State level also. They have honored us by securing positions. Professional ethics are addressed in many papers like DC-IV, Sanskrit( Self management in the Gita, NitisatakamSemester-IV), DC-I (Values- Sociology-DC-1-Semester-I), DC-I( Sources like Arthasastra, Dharmasastra, Kamndaka Nitisara, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata- History-Semester-1-DC-I), the Indian Classical Literature paper (Semester IV- English) including the curriculum of the other subjects as well. These topics encourage students to imbibe values such as honesty and integrity. We believe that the seeds of Indian core values are reiterated among students through these programmes.
