Hari Charan Banerjee Language Lab
Named after the renowned lexicographer Hari Charan Banerjee, the Language Lab of the college is available for the students of the language disciplines, namely English, Arabic, Sanskrit and Bengali. In today’s competitive job market, the significance of soft skill development is undeniable. Keeping this in mind, we have installed Orell Software to provide the students with the techniques to hone their language skills, such as listening, speaking reading and writing, to correct pronunciation, upgrade comprehension of a passage, speak fluently and correctly etc. Currently, we have twenty workstations in the Language Lab where twenty students can practice simultaneously. Our Language Lab is a dynamic, technology-enabled space designed to enhance students’ communication and linguistic skills in an engaging and practical environment. By integrating technology with pedagogy, the lab plays a vital role in shaping articulate, confident, and effective communicators.
We offer the following facilities at the Language Lab:
- Equipped with modern audio-visual systems, interactive software, and individual workstations, the lab provides learners with hands-on experience in listening, speaking, reading, and writing across multiple languages.
- The lab supports a learner-centered approach, allowing students to practice pronunciation, improve fluency, and develop confidence through guided exercises, real-time feedback, and self-paced modules.
- The Language Lab facilitates group discussions, presentations, and role-play activities, helping students strengthen their interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Under the guidance of trained faculty, the Language Lab caters to students from four disciplines, namely English, Sanskrit, Bengali and Arabic. However, the Language Lab is available for any student of the college enabling them to meet academic requirements and prepare for global career opportunities.
