College Hostel

Gour Mahavidyalaya offers separate hostel facilities for male and female students, ensuring a safe and secure residential environment. The hostels are situated within or in close proximity to the campus, providing convenient access to academic and recreational amenities. Each hostel is equipped with well-furnished rooms, clean washroom facilities, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Common rooms are available for study and leisure, along with dining halls that serve hygienic and nutritious meals. The hostels are supervised by dedicated wardens and supported by security personnel to maintain discipline, oversee daily activities, and ensure the overall well-being of the residents. These facilities are designed to foster a comfortable, homely atmosphere that supports both academic engagement and personal growth.

Shibram Chhatrabas

Named after the renowned Bengali writer Shibram Chakraborty, the college boys’ hostel accommodates up to 60 students, primarily from remote areas of the district. Students may avail themselves of lodging, water, and electricity facilities at a monthly charge of Rs. 1,000 (Rupees one thousand). However, arrangements for food are to be made individually. A mess facility is available, and residents may coordinate with the cook to organize their meals.

Dr. Subhendu Chatterjee of the Department of Computer Science and Application currently serves as the acting Hostel Superintendent. The hostel premises are secured with additional safety measures, including CCTV surveillance. Interested students can obtain the application form from the college office.

Nivedita Girls’ Hostel

The college provides hostel facilities for female students from remote areas, with a total capacity of 30 seats. Students can avail themselves of accommodation, water, and electricity at a monthly charge of Rs. 1,000 (Rupees one thousand). However, residents are required to make their own arrangements for food. A mess facility is available, and students may coordinate with the cook to organize their meals.

Smt. Urmimala Roy Basak of the Department of Sociology currently serves as the acting Hostel Superintendent, while Ms. Shrabani Dubey is the hostel warden. The hostel is equipped with enhanced security measures, and the entire area is under CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.
